member to member mentoring

Member to member mentoring can be one of the most memorable and enjoyable experiences of your career. Be connected one-on-one with another member of MomJD as a mentor or mentee. You must be a member to participate in the mentoring program. It is our hope that this will become one of the more successful programs in our community.

MomJD will try to match members based on experience, stage in career, and location. Please review the following guidelines and then proceed to the application.

> The Mentor and Mentee are responsible for establishing the length of the relationship. (We suggest a minimum of 6 months).
> The Mentor and Mentee are responsible for determining how much or how little personal information they will exchange. (i.e. Name, address, and phone number, or just names and e-mail addresses.) MomJD suggests signing up for an e-mail account specifically for this program — try Law.com's free e-mail service.
> The Mentor and Mentee must agree to respect each other's privacy and maintain confidentiality.
> The Mentor and Mentee agree to abide by the limitations they mutually place on the relationship. (i.e. the level of participation each party agrees to, like time available or type of questions found permissible.)
> The Mentor and Mentee accept full responsibility for their actions in the course of the relationship and agree that MomJD is not liable for any claims, damages, or other conflicts that may arise.
> The Mentor and Mentee grant MomJD permission to share their information with suitable participants.
> The Mentor and Mentee understand that MomJD does not verify or otherwise check the credentials of the participants and is not responsible for misuse.
> Mentors are to provide benefit of their counsel without expecting any personal gain (i.e. referrals, participation in fee sharing, etc.)
> Mentees are to realize that a Mentor's time is the most valuable asset she has to offer, and must agree not to abuse the consultation privilege.
> Mentors should have at least five years experience practicing law.
> Mentees should be just out of law school, or in their first or second year of practice.

I have read the above guidelines and agree to them.
