It wouldn't be to far from the truth to say that MomJD was started in my mind many years ago. When I started law school, I was basically one of a kind ... The other students my age had the "typical" college experience. Graduated from high school, went to a four year university, went on to law school. Not one other 22 year old there had children, let alone two children raising them alone.
I was desperate for a place to find women who were like me. Women who wanted and needed to balance their career with their family. I searched the web for resources and really didn't find any specifically for mothers in the legal profession. I was just beginning to create web pages at that point, and thought it would be great to start a site of my own, however, time and skill were yet to be had.
When I stumbled across MomMD, I thought "Wonderful!!" It seemed like such an invaluable resource, not to mention the fact that it had such an awesome name. I was ecstatic when MomMD thought creating a network of sites was a good idea.
It is my sincere hope that MomJD becomes the first place women go when they are looking for support. Be it a certain web site link or just someone who can say "Yes! You can do this."
Know that MomJD's doors are always open. If you have suggestions for this site, need some guidance, or anything at all, send a note to MomJD, and we will do our very best to support you and your career and your family.
